Bermondsey Street Bees is a multi-award-winning sustainable beekeeping business producing raw English honeys from its ‘Honey HQ’ by London’s Tower Bridge. The story began when Dale Gibson realised that the roof of his Victorian sugar warehouse overlooking The Shard would be perfect for beehives. Completing beekeeper training in 2007, he began a fascinating journey into what has become a passion for bee welfare and raw honey production. Together with his wife, professional Honey Sommelier Sarah Wyndham Lewis, he produces seasonal varietals of characterful English honeys under their urban (METRO) label and rural (UNION) label. A limited amount of the honey produced by their prize-winning Bermondsey Street hives is also available every Autumn. Bermondsey Street Bees has won many professional-judged accolades, with highlights including winning ‘Best Honey in London’ at the National Honey Show in 2019, 2017 & 2011, ‘Small Artisan Producer of the Year’ at the 2016 Great Taste Awards and ‘2019 Sustainable Food SME of the Year.
